喺西方通常稱為農曆新年，農曆新年喺每年嘅第一個月嘅新月上發生，每年都係由12生肖之一嘅生肖同佢哋嘅生肖象徵：鼠、牛、虎、兔、龍、蛇、馬、山羊、猴、雞、狗同豬。

農曆新年係中國同東亞同東南亞一啲國家一年中最重要嘅節日，傳統上，新年係同屋企人同社區一齊慶祝，包括深層清潔、用傳統剪紙裝飾屋企、開宴會，同埋放爆竹，為新年帶嚟一個爆炸！
