Brian McElney was an astute and passionate collector. Born in Hong Kong, he spent most of his working life there and always considered Hong Kong to be his home.

When he retired to the UK he donated much of his collection to found the Museum. His vision was for the Museum to ‘display at all times some of the rare wonders of East Asian art and particularly the marvellous arts of China’.

We are working hard to ensure that Brian McElney’s collection continues to be preserved and displayed for all to enjoy.

You can help us achieve this by making a donation today.
