We are not ready to reopen quite yet, but are working hard to put everything we can in place to welcome you back soon.
For regular updates please keep checking our website or join our mailing list here. In the meanwhile, find out about the exciting things we have been doing behind the scenes:
Connecting with our communities…
We are really enjoying staying in touch with our communities by delivering fresh and inspiring online content. Through our social media, we are learning more about the fantastic objects in our collection and the cultures they represent (#MuseumMondays), exploring the link between East Asian art and wellbeing (#WellbeingWednesdays) and looking back to great past moments at the MEAA (#ThrowbackThursday).
We are planning to expand our digital content with new themes and formats, so stay tuned! Head to @meaabath (Facebook), @TheMEAA (Twitter) and @bathmeaa (Instagram) to become part of our online community.
Working closely with our volunteers…
We have really missed seeing our volunteers’ familiar, friendly faces at the Museum. So, to keep the spirit of volunteering alive, we brought our Volunteer Programme online by hosting monthly ‘Virtual Volunteer Get Togethers’ and ‘Volunteer Sharing Sessions’.
During closure we created new volunteering opportunities like transcribing, cataloguing and content creation so that volunteers can continue to support the Museum from the safety of their own homes. We are always looking for new volunteers to join our special community – find out more here and please do get in touch!
We have continued to provide opportunities for families to enjoy our collection by creating a series of free online Home Schooling Resources to learn more about our collection and East Asian cultures in a fun and cross-curricular way.
From writing oracle bones inscriptions to designing your own kimono, these resources aim to inspire and support families wherever they are. Our Home Schooling Resources are still available here.
