Dr Nicole Chiang (Curator, MEAA)

This lecture offers a general overview of how Chinese painting has developed and evolved in the past 1,500 years, and is aimed at those with little or no understanding of Chinese painting.

The history of Chinese painting is rich and versatile: from instructive narratives to naturalist depictions of animals; from imaginary landscapes to works painted by European Jesuit missionaries.
