Experience the wonders of Japanese tea ceremony in the Museum galleries with Yukie Williams.

Set in our tranquil gallery space, this intimate demonstration will give you an insight into the cultural traditions surrounding Japanese tea ceremony and the chance to taste Japanese matcha tea.

Yukie has over 10 years’ experience practicing tea ceremony, known as sadō(茶道), inspired by her early years in Japan. You will learn about the details and meaning behind each steps of the tea ceremony.

This opportunity also includes admission to the Museum so you can discover our exquisite collections, including tea-ware from East and Southeast Asia, and our two current exhibitions ‘Judo: A Cultural History of Martial Art’ and ‘Global SinoPhoto Awards 2021’.

This event is suitable for anyone age 13 or above.
