Incense culture and the development of incense ceremonies reached its height during the Song Dynasty, with nobles enjoying it as a popular pastime.
Join us to discover a brief history of incense in China, how it was used historically and in modern times. We will take a look at the incense burners in the Museum’s collection during this talk. Attendees also have a chance to witness how an incense ceremony is conducted, and sample different incenses.
